Responding to the Opioid Crisis Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology

The guest editors are assembling a special issue on the opioid crisis in an effort to facilitate effective responding within the field of clinical psychology to the rapidly emerging challenges of this crisis. The objective of this special issue is to shed light on critical issues regarding the opioid crisis within the field of clinical psychology, to identify gaps in the knowledge base and directions for future investigations, and to enhance our ability to provide effective and compassionate care for those personally affected by this epidemic.
Early Intervention Services in Serious Mental Illness Psychological Services

This special section will be devoted to all aspects of the implementation and evaluation of early intervention services in serious mental illness programs in U.S. public service settings.
Psychological Science to Reduce and Prevent Health Disparities Translational Issues in Psychological Science
Due: Oct. 1, 2018
For this issue, the editors will consider manuscripts across a broad area of psychological research on reducing and preventing health disparities, including such topics as psychological interventions to prevent health disparities and to reduce health disparities, particularly those that target minorities, the poor, or the underserved.

NAADAC Annual Conference Offers Training Opportunities
NAADAC’s Annual Conference will feature a broad array of topics and formats, including five all-day preconference seminars on Oct. 5, daily keynote speakers in plenary sessions, breakout workshops, and events on Oct. 6–8, three all-day postconference seminars on Oct. 9, and a 2-day U.S. Department of Transportation SAP Qualification/Requalification training on Oct. 9–10.
