JUVENILE CORRECTIONS EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP

DSG is conducting an assessment of the Juvenile Corrections Executive Leadership training course. In conjunction with the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, the Council of Juvenile Justice Administrators developed the training course, also known as the Facility Director/Superintendent Training, to help strengthen the leadership in juvenile facilities and improve the care of youth in juvenile justice facilities nationwide.

The training course consists of a) a live, in-person, instructor-led component, b) a supplemental webinar component, and c) a supplemental coaching call component.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

DSG is conducting an assessment of the Juvenile Corrections Executive Leadership training course.

The goals of this assessment are to

    1. Produce a rigorous formative evaluation to provide feedback to stakeholders about program functioning and short-term outcomes, and to refine the training curriculum and process.

    2. Conduct an evaluability assessment to determine whether an outcome evaluation of the program would be justified, feasible, and useful.

        And, if so,

    3. Develop a rigorous outcome evaluation plan to determine the long-term impact of the training—with the ultimate goals of assisting facility leadership and staff to help youths in their custody, and of improving critical outcomes for youths, families, and communities.
